(The Intro) OYE: The Saga Part I

Updated: Jan 2

Over the course of 2021, I kept a personal journal where I'd write pick-me-up letters to myself to look back on in the future. I set the intention that anything I wrote in this journal would come true, so every entry is written as if it already is. At the end of the year, I went back, read all these letters and reflected on the growth I'd experienced prior. I have decided to share this journey with you all, where I will post the actual date and times I wrote these letters for you to read.

In May of 2021, I shaved all of my hair off. This action has been synonymous with the journey I've been on to self discovery. As I learn patience with my hair, I practice patience with myself. As I learn to love my hair, I practice loving my true self.

It's so important to remember that growth is not linear. Often times, we get caught up in the "end goal" that we ar

missing the present moment. I have learned to be comfortable in my "ugly stage," I have learned to be comfortable in my growth period.

It is my only hope that the way I process my own feelings can be of some assistance to you doing the same thing. I'd love to hear your feedback and reassurance that I am not alone. I hope you enjoy!

Dear Amiyah,

You are amidst a breakthrough. You are transitioning yourself and your life to create the reality you've always wanted--a reality of luxury and little stress. You are figuring it out. You will have clarity soon. You are overcoming you past fears and redefining who you really are. You are remembering yourself and honoring all sides of you. You have begun to acknowledge your dark side. Rather than ignore it, you walk gently with your lower self to tame and tenderize her. You are not ashamed of any parts of you. You are accepting of yourself whole and as you are. You are constantly learning. You are open and honest and real. You no longer worry about the needs or opinions of others in your life because you are self fulfilled. You are happy with and proud of yourself. You are complete and learning to be whole. You are grounded and right where you need to be.

Love,

Amiyah
